MOGADISHU: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has distributed 23,800 bags of rice to the needy groups in Somalia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

The initiative benefited 151,400 individuals, as part of the Zakat Al-Fitr distribution project in Somalia for the current year.

Under the program 40,920 bags of rice totaling 818.5 tons would be distributed. The project would benefit 245,520 individuals, equivalent to 40,920 families.

The food assistance comes within the framework of relief efforts provided by Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to end the suffering of the needy and affected people worldwide.
