TDAP facilitates visit of high-level rice exporters’ team to China

By Press Release

KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is facilitating the visit of a 20-member delegation of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) to the People’s Republic of China from 20 to 28 July 2026. The delegation comprises of leading exporters of rice.

The business delegation will visit Guangzhou and Beijing as part of TDAP’s continued efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s export footprint in one of its most important international markets.

During the visit, the delegation will hold a series of business meetings with leading retail chain stores, grain associations, major rice importers, wholesalers, and distributors in China. These interactions are aimed at strengthening existing trade relationships, exploring new business opportunities, and promoting premium Pakistani rice, particularly Basmati and other high-quality varieties, among Chinese buyers.

China remains one of the leading export destinations for Pakistani rice. During FY2025-26, Pakistan exported rice worth USD146 million to China. The Chinese market has witnessed encouraging growth in imports of Pakistani rice during the year, reflecting the increasing acceptance and demand for Pakistan’s high-quality rice products.

The visit is expected to provide Pakistani exporters with an opportunity to better understand the evolving preferences of Chinese consumers, establish long-term commercial partnerships, and secure new export orders. It also underscores the strong economic and trade relations between Pakistan and China and aligns with TDAP’s strategy to diversify and expand Pakistan’s export. It is expected that the delegation’s engagements in Guangzhou and Beijing will further enhance Pakistan’s presence in the Chinese market and contribute to increasing rice exports. The initiative is expected to generate tangible business outcomes and reinforce Pakistan’s position as a reliable supplier of premium-quality rice to China.

TDAP remains committed to facilitating trade promotion initiatives that enhance Pakistan’s exports, strengthen business-to-business linkages, and support the country’s economic growth through increased international trade.
