YANGON, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — Myanmar exported 848,278 tonnes of rice and broken rice in the first five months of the current fiscal year 2026-27, which began in April, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation on Tuesday.

The country earned about 291 million U.S. dollars from exports of rice and broken rice during the period, the federation said.

According to the federation, rice exports during the first five months of this fiscal year were lower than the over 1.03 million tonnes exported during the same period last fiscal year.

Rice and broken rice were exported via both sea and land routes to more than 30 countries and regions, it said.
