Myanmar earns $338 million from rice exports in six months

Source: Xinhua

Myanmar exported more than 970,000 tonnes of rice and broken rice during the first six months of the 2026-27 fiscal year, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

The country shipped a total of 971,662 tonnes of rice and broken rice between April and September, News.Az reports, citing Xinhua and data from the Myanmar Rice Federation.

According to the federation, export revenues during the six-month period amounted to approximately $338 million.

Despite the significant volume, shipments declined compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year, when Myanmar exported more than 1.2 million tonnes of rice and broken rice.

Myanmar supplied its rice products to more than 30 countries and regions during the reporting period.

The shipments were carried out through both maritime and land trade routes, reflecting the continued importance of rice exports to the country’s agricultural trade.
