Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Ko Lay presents the rice donated by China under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Programme-3 (2025) to flood-affected residents in Sagaing Region yesterday.

China has donated 95 tonnes of rice to flood-affected people in Sagaing Region under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Programme-3 (2025).

The rice distribution ceremony was held yesterday at the meeting hall of the Sagaing District Agriculture Department office. Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Ko Lay delivered a speech and, together with officials, handed over the rice to flood-affected residents.
The chief minister and officials also inspected several manufacturing businesses in Sagaing.
They visited the Soe condensed milk and natural yoghurt factory in Pabedan Ward, Sagaing, where they observed production activities. They also inspected footwear production and packaging at the Myanmar Step footwear factory in the Sagaing Industrial Zone, including the recycling of old long rubber boots into raw materials for storage.
At the Maha Nilar two- and three-wheeled vehicle manufacturing factory in the Sagaing Industrial Zone, they observed the production of three-wheeled motorcycles, motorcycle rear racks, motorcycle brake levers and brake shoes.
The officials coordinated with those responsible to address the needs of the factories, according to the report.
