Jakarta (ANTARA) – State logistics agency Bulog has intensified the distribution of rice under the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) Program and secured cross-agency supervision to ensure it remains on target.

Bulog’s director of operations and public services, Mokhamad Suyamto, said that the SPHP rice distribution is a part of the government’s efforts to maintain price stability and secure rice availability for the public.

“The distribution is being carried out under cross-agency supervision to ensure that it is well-targeted and in line with regulations,” he added in a press release issued here on Wednesday.

He informed that Bulog is currently speeding up SPHP rice distribution through various official channels.

“We are committed to ensuring rice remains affordable for the public while strengthening national food price stability,” he affirmed.

SPHP rice is being distributed through traditional markets, government-supported food kiosks, the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) program, in coordination with local governments, as well as through Red and White Village Cooperatives to expand the program’s reach.

Suyamto said that consumers can purchase SPHP rice at the government-set ceiling price for medium rice, which is Rp12,500 per kilogram for Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and Sulawesi.

For Sumatra region, excluding Lampung and South Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara, and Kalimantan, the price has been set at Rp13,100 per kg, while for Maluku and Papua, it is Rp13,500 per kg.

“Each consumer may purchase a maximum of two packs, or 10 kilograms, to ensure that SPHP rice is fairly and evenly distributed across all communities in Indonesia,” he added.

To prevent misuse, strict supervision is being carried out in collaboration with local supervisory and security officers, regional-level police food task forces, and other relevant agencies.

Firm action will be taken against violations such as selling rice at rates above the prescribed ceiling or mixing of SPHP rice with other types.

“SPHP provides an alternative for communities in need of affordable, high-quality rice,” Suyamto said.
