MANILA, Philippines – Thailand is set to showcase the richness and diversity of its rice industry at the World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2026, one of the Philippines’ premier international food and beverage trade exhibitions. The event will take place from July 29 to August 1, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center and World Trade Center Metro Manila, bringing together food industry professionals, importers, distributors, retailers, and consumers from across the region. 

Organized under the campaign “THINK RICE, THINK THAILAND: We Serve the Best Quality Rice to the World,” Thailand’s participation aims to reinforce its position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of premium-quality rice while highlighting the country’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in rice production.

Visitors are invited to explore the “THINK RICE, THINK THAILAND” pavilion, where a wide selection of Thai rice varieties will be featured. In addition to the internationally renowned Thai Hom Mali Rice, visitors will have the opportunity to discover other distinctive Thai rice varieties, including Sangyod Rice, Riceberry Rice, Chumphae Rice, Thai Fragrant Rice, and premium Thai White Rice. Each variety reflects Thailand’s rich agricultural heritage and offers unique characteristics in aroma, texture, nutrition, and culinary applications.

The pavilion will also serve as a platform for business networking and partnership development between Thai rice and Thai rice product exporters and Philippine importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and food service operators. Attendees seeking reliable sourcing opportunities will be able to connect directly with Thai rice and Thai rice product businesses and explore potential collaborations to meet the growing demand for high-quality rice products in the Philippine market.

Adding further excitement to the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the versatility of Thai rice through a series of live cooking demonstrations featuring a variety of premium Thai rice varieties, including Thai Hom Mali Rice, Riceberry Rice, Sangyod Rice, and other distinctive selections. The demonstrations will showcase how different types of Thai rice contribute unique textures, aromas, and flavors to authentic Thai cuisine. Conducted by experienced chefs from Thai SELECT restaurants in Manila, these interactive sessions will highlight the culinary potential of Thai rice while providing valuable insights into authentic Thai cooking traditions. Thai SELECT is an internationally recognized certification awarded by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand to restaurants that uphold the authenticity, quality, and excellence of Thai cuisine, further reinforcing Thailand’s reputation as a global leader in both premium rice and culinary heritage. 

Thailand’s participation in WOFEX 2026 is supported by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, through the Thai Trade Center in Manila. The initiative reflects Thailand’s continued efforts to strengthen trade relations with the Philippines and promote Thai agricultural products in international markets.
