As of the first day of the current fiscal year, the stock of rice in the country has increased to 1.541 million tonnes from the previous year’s 1.473 million tonnes.

According to statistics from the food ministry, there are now 1.764 million tonnes of rice and wheat stocks in various warehouses across the country, which is about three hundred thousand tonnes more than the same period last fiscal year.

On July 1st of last year, the total stock of rice and wheat in the country was 1.473 million tonnes, with 1.06 million tonnes of rice and 0.413 million tonnes of wheat.

At the beginning of the new fiscal year, rice stock increased to 1.541 million tonnes, while wheat stock decreased to 0.223 million tonnes due to higher distribution, according to data from the food ministry.
