The area of harvest and national rice production has increased

A number of farm workers are harvesting rice in the fields of Jamus Village, Mranggen Subdistrict, Demak Regency, Central Java, on Wednesday (April 8, 2026). Data from the Central Statistics Agency released on April 1, 2026, recorded that the national rice harvest area in February 2026 reached 0.94 million hectares, with rice production for consumption estimated at 2.91 million tons, an increase of 0.18 million hectares or 23.62 percent compared to February 2025, which covered 0.76 million hectares.
