Rice export earnings in December records highest in nine months of 2025-2026 FY

Rice and broken rice export figures.

The country received US$99 million from the export of rice and broken rice weighed 331869 tonnes in December last year, and it was the highest monthly volume during the nine months of the 2025-2026 financial year, according to Myanmar Rice Federation’s official figures.

Over nine months from April to December last year, total rice and broken rice export was 2,119,011 tonnes and earned $675 million. Of which, export in December reached 331,869 tonnes in total– 230788 tonnes of rice and 101,081 tonnes of broken rice by 72 companies and earned $99million, said MRF.

According to rice and broken rice export figures of MRF for the fiscal year of 2025-2026, the country received $52million from the export of 142,788 tonnes in April, $90million from the export of 259,501 tonnes in May, $71 million from the export of 212,416 tonnes in June and $77million from the export of 230,627 tonnes in July.

The export earnings reached $65million from 192,985 tonnes of export in August, $52million from 168,046 tonnes of export in September, $92million from 316,920 tonnes of export in October and $76million from 263,815 tonnes of export in November.

The rice and broken rice export is expected to reach around 3million tonnes in this fiscal year of 2025-2026, said MRF chair.
