Rice, chicken prices stay high
Veggie, potato prices down.

The prices of all kinds of rice and chicken remained high in recent weeks, while vegetables and potatoes have experienced a decrease.
Vegetable prices have significantly decreased in the recent weeks, making those more affordable for consumers.
Potato prices dropped by Tk10 per kilogram within a week, while egg prices remained stable and rice, chicken, and fish prices remained high.
A visit to the Mirpur-11, 6, 13 kitchen markets, the Muslim market of Pallabi and other markets in Mirpur-12 on Friday, this correspondent found that winter vegetables are being sold at reasonable prices.
According to traders, the increased supply of veggies has resulted in a significant drop in pricing.
Rice traders have reported that rice prices have been high for several months. Rice prices have not decreased despite efforts to reduce import duties and increase the offer during the peak Aman season.
In the past month, rice prices have increased by Tk2-6 per kilogram, depending on the quality.
Currently, Miniket rice is selling for Tk78-82 per kg while Nazirshail rice varies between Tk85 and Tk90 per kg.
A month ago, Miniket was sold at Tk72-80 per kg, and Nazirshail at Tk80-85 per kg.
Medium-quality rice, including BRRI-28 and Paijam, are selling for Tk60-66 per kg while coarse rice and Guti Sharna rice are selling at Tk60-62 per kg.
A month ago, coarse rice was sold at Tk55-56 per kg.
The prices of chickens have been high in recent weeks; broiler chicken was sold at Tk200-220 per kg while Sonali chicken was priced at Tk330-350 per kg, compared to Tk300-320 a week prior.
Meanwhile, the price of farm eggs has decreased, with a dozen sold at Tk130-135, compared to Tk140-145 two weeks ago.
Potatoes were sold at Tk35 per kg, and onions were Tk55 per kg a week earlier.
Brinjal was sold at Tk40-50 per kg, beans were Tk30-50 per kg, green papaya was Tk25-30 per kg, cucumber was Tk25-30 per kg, bitter gourd was Tk50-60 per kg, radish was Tk15-20 per kg, yardlong beans were Tk50-60 per kg, carrot was Tk40-45 per kg, and pumpkin was Tk30 per kg.
Each piece of cauliflower and cabbage was Tk15-20, while a bottle gourd was sold at Tk40-50.
