Rice and broken rice export earns US$1331.899million in last year

Rice and broken rice export to nearly 50 destinations in last year earned US$1331.899 million, said Myanmar Rice Federation in a statement.

103 companies exported rice and broken rice totalling 2,767,414 tonnes to 49 countries, earning US$1331.899 million.

MRF has worked on rice and broken rice export in accordance with the government’s policy and direction from the aspect of the private sector and at the same time, it has encouraged new export companies by sharing knowledge and conducting training on rice quality, quantity and the process of the international rice market, it said.

New exporters have engaged in rice and broken rice export sector in a systematic approach, it said. MRF membership expanded to 1196 at the end of December 2024, from 980 at the end of December 2023, it said.

With the membership growth and their trust and cooperation, MRF will make sure better service, more efficient sharing of information and stronger cooperation, it added.

Including farmer groups, agricultural cooperative associations and rice millers, MRF has invited exporters who are keen to cooperate in rice and broken rice export sector in 2025 and would provide them market links and help in the operation, it said.
