Synopsis: The initiative boosts Cambodian rice exports and diversifies global markets while giving local exporters a vital platform to network directly with global buyers.

The Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) is leading 12 local exporters to Salon International de l’Alimentation Paris (SIAL) Paris 2026 to showcase the Kingdom’s high-quality rice products. The upcoming event is widely recognised as one of the world’s largest international food trade fairs.

The event will take place from October 17 to 21 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris, France.

The pavilion will be jointly organised by the CRF under the guidance of the Royal Government, with key support from the Ministries of Commerce, Agriculture, Industry, and the Rural Development and Agriculture Bank, alongside local Cambodian entrepreneurs.

The participating companies will promote Cambodian rice and rice-based products that meet international quality and safety standards, including varieties that have won the World’s Best Rice award, the CRF said in a statement yesterday.

“The participation aims to promote Cambodian rice, increase exports in line with government policies and diversify international markets. It will also provide opportunities for Cambodian exporters to connect with international buyers, particularly those from European markets, CRF said.

This will be the federation’s third participation in SIAL Paris, following its first appearance in 2014 and its second participation in 2024.

The trade-only event gathers thousands of exhibitors from over 100 countries, spanning the full agri-food supply chain from producers and processors to distributors and retailers.

It is expected to bring together more than 8,000 exhibitors and approximately 295,000 food-industry professionals from around the world.

Cambodian rice exporters will display their products under a 96-square-metre pavilion decorated with the Cambodian flag in Hall 8.

The European Union and China remained the primary destination markets for the Kingdom’s rice exports.

The country exported 792,212 tonnes of milled rice in the first eight months of 2026, marking a significant 67.5% rise from the 472,803 tonnes shipped during the same period last year, CRF report showed.

This export boom generated $464 million in revenue from January to August, representing a 33% increase from the $348 million recorded during the first eight months of 2025.
