Over 5,000 farmers and 1,000 cooperatives are expected to take part in the two-day Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025 to be held in New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam from October 30.

Indian Rice Exporters’ Federation (IREF) is organising the event in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda), a nodal agency for agricultural and processed food exports.

Kribhco (Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited) is the main sponsor of the event along with National Cooperative Exports Ltd (NCEL) and National Cooperative Organics Ltd (NOCL) and Bhartiya Beej Sahkarita Samiti Ltd. (BBSSL).

Kribhco, a crucial contributor to the country’s rice exports as promotor founder of NCEL, is the silver sponsor of the event, said Rajesh Paharia Jain, Chief Manager (Business Development), Kribhco Agri Business Ltd.

Kribhco’s H1 shipments

As promoter Founder of NCEL, Kribhco Agri Business Ltd has exported 1.36 lakh tonnes of rice to African nations such as Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia and Sierra Leone between April 1 and September 30, 2025, said Jain.

BIRC 2025 will be the biggest-ever rice exhibition-cum-conference, bringing together various stakeholders in the rice value chain, such as rice exporters, importers, research & technological organisations, start-ups of various value-added products, Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs), financial institutions, shipment agencies, including government organisations in the country on one platform, said Jain, also IREF Vice-President (State).

The event assumes importance as a forum to reaffirm India’s commitment to reliable and sustainable food exports and to deepen partnerships with key importing nations, he said, adding that India is well-positioned to play a crucial role in global agri-trade to meet the food security needs of the world.
