MRF sold rice in April

Myanmar Rice Federation and Myanmar Rice and Paddy Traders Association will jointly carry out a plan selling rice directly to consumers in Yangon Region, in an effort to control prices of Pawsan rice, said MRF.

Under the plan, Pawsan rice bag (108lb, 24 phi) will be sold by home delivery and small sized bags- 10kg and 5 kg will be sold in wards and markets starting from 26 November 2025.

Pawsan (Shwebo Pawsan and Ayeyawady Pawsan) distributors and retailers in the region will need to cooperate in this plan by contacting the MRPTA and Wardan commodity exchange centre, said MRF. It also urged them to supply Pawsan rice at reasonable price in good quality in the market without stop and do not raise prices of goods they have stocked.

According to order issued by the Ministry of Commerce dated back to 24 October 2024, registration will need to do at Myanmar Rice Online, MyRO-www.myro.com.mm, for rice storage for commercial purpose, and distributors and traders will need to register and input data at MyRO for how many goods they have stored, how many goods have been sold out and how many goods have been remained, between 1st and 7th day of the month without fail, said MRF. – MT/ZS
