How Much Indonesian Rice Stock? This is the Minister of Agriculture’s Word

YOGYAKARTA – How much stock of Indonesian rice? Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman spoke out about the condition of Indonesia’s food reserves in the face of the war situation in the Middle East and the Godzilla El Nino cycle. He informed that the Government Rice Reserve (CBP) reached 4.6 million tons as of April 7, 2026.
“So yesterday 4.5 (million tons), now 4.6 million tons. This is the highest in history. The condition of national rice stocks in Indonesia is guaranteed to be safe for the next 10 to 11 months. On the other hand, El Nino is estimated to be 6 months,” Amran explained in a Working Meeting with Commission IV of the DPR RI at the Parliament Building, Tuesday (7/4).
Apart from rice, Amran ensured that other food supplies such as garlic and chicken eggs were also safe. Although, the war that is currently still going on in the Middle East has an impact on the supply chain.
“So God willing, our food is safe. Even though conflicts in the Middle East have begun to disrupt global supply chains, the supply of main food ingredients such as red onions, garlic, chili, chicken eggs, and granulated sugar is sufficient,” explained Amran. How Much Indonesian Rice Stock?
