PHNOM PENH – Cambodia exported 420,572 tons of milled rice during the first seven months of 2025, generating a gross revenue of 309 million U.S. dollars, the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) said in a news release on Thursday.

Fifty-one companies had exported the kingdom’s milled rice to 65 countries and regions during the January-July period this year, the news release said, adding that China was still one of the key importers of the commodity.

The Southeast Asian nation shipped 105,621 tons of milled rice to China in the first seven months of this year, earning 62.1 million dollars in revenue, the news release said.

“About 77.65 percent of the exported rice was fragrant rice, 15.61 percent was white rice, 3.27 percent was parboiled rice, 2.61 percent was organic rice, and 0.86 percent was other types of rice,” CRF secretary general Lun Yeng said.

Ministry of Commerce’s Secretary of State and spokesperson Penn Sovicheat said the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement have laid a solid foundation for Cambodia’s exports of agricultural produce to China and other RCEP countries with tariff concessions.

“Under these trade deals, a number of Cambodian products, especially high-quality agricultural products such as milled rice, yellow bananas, mangoes, longans, peppercorn, and durians have been exported to China with preferential tariffs,” he told Xinhua.
