Cambodia Earns $840 Million from Rice Exports in First Four Months

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia earned around $840 million from exports of milled rice and paddy rice during the first four months of 2026, according to a report released by the Cambodia Rice Federation on May 7.

The country exported 469,909 tonnes of milled rice to 60 international markets, generating approximately $226 million in revenue.

Fragrant rice remained Cambodia’s best-selling category, accounting for 58 percent of total rice exports. Other exported varieties included long-grain white rice, broken rice, parboiled rice and organic rice.

Among export destinations, five ASEAN countries were Cambodia’s largest market, importing 177,761 tonnes valued at around $72.15 million. China and its autonomous regions ranked second, purchasing 129,332 tonnes worth $75.88 million.

Europe ranked third, importing 126,108 tonnes valued at $85.44 million. Another 22 countries, including markets in Africa and the Middle East, imported 36,708 tonnes worth $32.91 million.

In addition to milled rice, Cambodia exported 2.68 million tonnes of wet paddy rice to neighboring countries, generating another $576.10 million in revenue.
