Basmati trade breathes easy as US postpones tariff hike

Vibhor Mohan

The US has delayed proposed tariffs on Indian basmati rice imports for 90 days, offering relief to exporters and allowing existing shipments to proceed smoothly. This postponement provides a critical window for finalizing deals and streamlining logistics before the new crop arrives.
