August-October Rice Production Estimated at 9.33 Million Tons, Slightly Down from Last Year

JAKARTA – The Central Statistics Agency or BPS estimates that rice production in August-October 2026 reached 9.33 million tons. The figure fell slightly by 0.90 percent compared to the same period last year.
BPS Distribution and Services Statistics Deputy Ateng Hartono, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, September 1, said the potential area of rice harvest in the period is estimated to reach 3.07 million hectares, down 1.29 percent compared to August-October 2025.
This estimate is in line with the potential rice production of 16.18 million tons of milled dry paddy or GKG.
In July 2026, the area of rice harvest was recorded at 0.93 million hectares, down 1.05 percent from July 2025 which reached 0.94 million hectares.
