JAKARTA – Perum Bulog recorded the realization of rice procurement reaching 4.11 million tons of rice equivalent until October 8, 2026. This achievement is equivalent to 102.88 percent of the government’s assignment target of 4 million tons and is the highest procurement realization in the company’s history.

This year’s realization exceeded the 2025 achievement of 3.19 million tons of rice equivalent. Previously, the highest record of Bulog procurement was recorded in 2012, namely 3.65 million tons.

Director of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said that the achievement was not just a number. The achievement is the result of hard work, dedication, and the spirit of all Bulog people in various regions of Indonesia in absorbing the harvest of farmers.

“The success in exceeding this target is proof that with joint work, we can optimally carry out the Government’s mandate,” said Rizal.

He explained that the procurement of rice was carried out through the Bulog network in various production centers by involving farmers, farmer groups, milling partners, and other stakeholders.

Bulog also optimizes the purchasing network at the production level, prepares storage and warehousing facilities, and accelerates absorption at the harvest momentum. This step is taken to ensure that farmers’ harvest results are absorbed optimally while strengthening the Government Rice Reserve (CBP).

Rizal also appreciated the support of the government and various parties that contributed to this achievement. They include the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Agriculture Ministry, National Food Agency, TNI, local governments, farmers, and Bulog’s working partners.

“This achievement must be an energy for Bulog to continue to provide benefits for farmers, maintain food availability for the community, and strengthen Indonesia’s food security,” he said.

The realization of the procurement strengthens the role of Bulog in maintaining food availability, supporting price stabilization at the producer and consumer levels, and managing government food reserves.

Although it has exceeded the assignment target, Bulog stated that it will continue to absorb rice until the end of 2026. This effort is aimed at strengthening the government’s food stocks while supporting the food stabilization and distribution program to the community.

Bulog also emphasized its commitment to strengthening operations from upstream to downstream to support sustainable food self-sufficiency and ensure that farmers’ harvests contribute to national food security.
