Rice bean price remains stable, tracking robust demand from the Yangon market and purchasing power from China, according to the Department of Consumer Affairs in Magway Region.

Rice bean from Pakokku commodity depot is steadily flowing to Yangon and Mandalay markets.
The bean growing season runs from October through November. The price is expected to remain stable at the current high of K84,000 per basket, following the low market inventories. High market prices encourage farmers to maintain and expand their crop acreage for the upcoming planting season. Chinese demand and trade situations will weigh on the prevailing market prices.

Rice beans from Pakokku, Yezagyo, Seikphyu and Gangaw townships are primarily supplied to the Pakokku depot, the main economic and trade hub of Magway Region. — KK
