MRF invites collaboration on Rice Export Zone (REZ) Project

Nyein Nyein

Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) invites stakeholders to cooperate in the Rice Export Zone (REZ) project, according to an announcement dated 15 June.

Export companies, agricultural cooperatives that can cultivate at least 300 acres with no more than three designated varieties, companies executing contract farming, farmer groups, rice millers, and MSMEs operating in the rice sector are invited to participate in this project.

The REZ project is being implemented under a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the MRF. The project aims to develop the export value chain and improve production for the sustainable development of the rice sector.

Furthermore, the project aims to improve farmers’ production capacity, increase their incomes, enhance rural living standards, and boost both the quality and quantity of rice exports, with the support of the National Economic Promotion Fund and agricultural loans arranged by exporters.

Interested parties are invited to contact us by the end of June to cooperate in the 2026 monsoon paddy season. — NN/KK
