Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has said that the government is committed to providing all possible facilitation and incentives to the export sector, while Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is taking special measures for rice exporters, which will further boost exports. 

KARACHI, May 14 (APP):Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has said that the government is committed to providing all possible facilitation and incentives to the export sector, while Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is taking special measures for rice exporters, which will further boost exports.

He termed the decision of 9% rebate on basmati rice exports and 3% rebate on non-basmati rice exports as a historic initiative of the Prime Minister.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting with the Executive Committee of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) at REAP House, Karachi.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on rice exports, promotion of trade activities, and challenges faced by the export sector.

The Governor Sindh said that increasing exports is vital for the stability of the national economy and stressed that Pakistani rice exporters should aim to be included among the top ten exporters in the world.

He also said that the establishment of an Export Cell is an important step, and he is ready to serve as its representative himself. The delegation apprised the Governor Sindh of issues, policy challenges, and the need for government support.

Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi assured that the concerns of rice exporters would be taken up on a priority basis and every possible support would be extended.

Abdul Rahim Jano expressed his commitment to further increase rice exports from $3 billion, noting significant growth in Pakistani rice markets in China, Iran, African countries, and the UAE. Later, Abdul Rahim Jano presented a commemorative shield to Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on behalf of REAP.
