 Global New Light of Myanmar

The Export Promotion Working Committee of the Myanmar Rice Federation and member rice exporting companies hold a coordination meeting on rice exports.

The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) has announced that 2,506,050 tonnes of rice were exported during the 2025-2026 financial year up to 10 March. This figure marks an increase compared to the same period in the previous financial year, according to a coordination meeting on rice exports.
On 10 March, the MRF’s Export Promotion Working Committee held a coordination meeting with member rice exporting companies at the Park Royal Hotel in Yangon. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, special priority is being given to boosting export volumes as much as possible before the end of the current financial year in March.
Attendees discussed export projections for the upcoming 2026-2027 financial year and strategic processes for export promotion. The meeting addressed current challenges and obstacles faced during the export process. Discussions were also held regarding the development and implementation of dedicated Rice Export Zones. During the session, the MRF president and relevant officials addressed suggestions and queries raised by the participants to streamline future operations. — MT/ZN
