UC scientists to discuss rice production, variety trials
Meetings will culminate in the Rice Experiment Station’s annual field day on Wednesday, Aug. 27 in Biggs.

A pair of workshops for the rice industry this summer will cover such topics as production practices, innovative varieties and efforts to combat a key pest.
Weedy Rice
The UCCE’s Weedy Rice Meeting will focus in on the biology and management of this important pest and on general weed management research.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 10 am to 1:15 pm at the Roberts-Union Farm Center (4925 Howard Road, Stockton, 95206). Registration is requested and is free.
Variety trials
The Rice Experiment Station will hold its annual field day on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Rice Experiment Station (955 Butte City Highway, Biggs, 95917).
The field day is an opportunity to learn about rice variety development at the station and weed management research from UC scientists.
