It has been decided to march towards Islamabad and be filed petition against NEPRA in the country’s high courts if the federal government does not hold a press conference in the press club. Addressing the meeting, General Secretary of the Association Asad Ali Tunio said that each and every rice mill is being destroyed by taking over the industry which brings in 4 billion countrywide exchange. There are 40 to 50 employees working in every rice mill of Sindh Balochistan, while there are more than 4,000 rice mills and it is clear that with the closure of the mills, lakhs of workers will become unemployed, which will affect the peasant class. It has been decided to increase the charges per kilowatt from 440 to 1250 rupees on the tariff, which is equivalent to destroying the rice mill industry because a rice mill that closes for 6 months on which 3 thousand incoming bills are charged to 3 lakh rupees. If the Prime Minister of Pakistan takes notice of our legitimate problems and issues instructions to the responsible representatives otherwise we reserve the right to peaceful legal protest.
