Andhra Pradesh Govt Reduces Prices Of Pulses And Rice. Check Revises Rates

The new prices are effective in every Rythu Bazaar centre.

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to cut the prices of some essential items, offering some relief to the common people. The newly elected government is continually working to reduce the prices of everyday essentials, thereby easing the financial burden on ordinary citizens in the state. According to reports, the price of toor dal, which was Rs 160 per kg was reduced by Rs 10, bringing it down to Rs 150 per kilogram in the Rythu Bazaars. In the state, the price of the rice was also similarly reduced. The new prices are effective in every Rythu Bazaar centre across Andhra Pradesh. The general public is reportedly pleased with this move of the government.

In the Rythu Bazaars of Visakhapatnam, the Civil Supplies Department of the state has set up centres to sell subsidised toor dal. The department has been constantly trying to reduce the prices. As per the reports, the general market has made it difficult for people to afford toor dal due to skyrocketing prices. Similarly, the prices of rice are also quite high in the market. Presently, it is very hard to find rice with a price of less than Rs 50 per kg in any open market of Visakhapatnam.

Prasad, the Estate Officer of MVP Rythu Bazaar, mentioned that earlier the price of toor dal exceeded Rs 200. Then the price came down to Rs 160. The government then decided to reduce the price by Rs 10 more, which will surely be very helpful for the general public. He said, “The government is observing the prices of toor dal in the Rythu Bazaars. As per the orders of the Visakhapatnam District Collector and Joint Collector, the Civil Supplies Department is selling toor dal at Rs 150 per kilogram.”

The prices of rice have also been reduced by the government. Presently, rice is available at Rs 48 per kg and Rs 47 per kg. Earlier, rice was priced at Rs 49 to Rs 50 per kilogram, but these prices have now been reduced by the Civil Supplies Department. At present, a 26 kg bag of Sona Masoori rice is being sold for Rs 1,248, while another variety of rice is available at Rs 1,222. Prasad mentioned that these prices will be maintained at all the markets across Visakhapatnam.
