Price of rice, pulses surge
Association urges immediate formulation of SOPs concerning prices, profits
RAWALPINDI:
The prices of pulses and rice have witnessed a surge of Rs30 to Rs45 per kg in the open market, straining the wallets of already burdened consumers yet again.
In light of this recent surge, the Central Kariyana Merchants Association has urged the deputy commissioner to promptly convene an urgent meeting of the District Price Control Committee to revise the prices of grocery items.
Initially scheduled for October, this crucial meeting faced a delay of three months. The Central Kariyana Merchants Association is now pressing for a resolution, advocating for a fixed 10 per cent profit per kg on wholesale prices across all grocery items, including pulses.
The association has urged the immediate formulation of SOPs concerning prices and profits. This call aims to achieve a lasting resolution to the ongoing dispute by establishing clear guidelines.
