HANOI, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) — The Philippines was the largest rice importer of Vietnam in October followed by Indonesia, VnExpress has reported, citing the Vietnam Food Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cote d’Ivoire, in the third position, imported 62,000 tons of rice worth 37.5 million U.S. dollars from Vietnam in October, the report said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ghana and Malaysia also massively increased imports of Vietnamese rice, reaching 46,470 tons and 40,728 tons respectively, putting them in the fourth and fifth spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Compared to September, the two countries imported 20-30 percent more rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In early November, the prices of Vietnamese export rice soared to the highest level in the past decade. The country’s rice export turnover also recorded a new peak in the first 10 months of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
